What is it about coffee and chocolate?
They’re such perfect partners – if you get the combination right!
We’ve recently been experimenting with several amazing coffees and combining them with equally characterful chocolate – and we’re delighted with the results.
Coffee and chocolate grow in similar regions, share similar characteristics – being dependent on interesting soil and climate variations to develop character. When they’re combined with care and the character of each is respected – the results are amazing!
So – coming soon – we will be launching some fabulous, limited edition, coffee and chocolate buttons.
We will be using Arabica coffee beans grown in the high Andean mountains in Huila – Colombia, Blue Mountain beans from the banks of Lake Kivu – on the border between D R Congo and Rwanda, as well as equally exciting coffees from Guatemala and Ethiopia. These coffees are carefully sourced and roasted by Poblado Coffi – fellow Welsh foodies.
Do you remember when you were young and you had a box of filled chocolates – maybe Milk Tray – or some other popular brand – there were always a few flavours that hung around after the sexier chocolates had been greedily scoffed? Maybe it was the lime barrel, or the strawberry cream? In our house, it was the coffee one. It put me off coffee and chocolate as a combo for years. Fortunately, I have seen the light!
We are confident that these new chocolate buttons will be welcomed by coffee and chocolate lovers alike – looking for an exciting new twist on a flavour combination that hasn’t always delivered the goods!
